For puppies, teenage dogs, and fearful dogs - a great, quiet location to learn skills, and distractions are available when the pup is ready to work with those.

Appointments are scheduled through Redmond Parks during the day; during the hours the park is open. Typically the appointments willb e Monday, Tuesday, or Saturdays.

Masks are not required; however you are welcome to wear them.

What you and your puppy will learn:

  • Learn to teach your puppy to respond to verbal cues: sit, down, stand, as well as go to a mat, relax on a mat (2 different things!!), touch, respond to their name, trade, leave it, and come when called.  How to easily medicate your dog will be demonstrated.

  • We will also start on loose leash walking.


What to Bring to Class:

  • Your Mask (if you wish)

  • Your Pup’s Vaccination and Deworming records (This can be emailed before class).

  • A bag to carry all your training stuff in! A small tool bag works great!

  • Lots of soft, tiny, cut-up treats (Happy Howies work best, non-crumbly) 2-3 kinds of treats are recommended (Zukes Minis, String Cheese, Ziwi Peak are good, as are the treats from Trader Joe’s - anything you can easily make into small pieces that your puppy likes)

  • Treat pouch - one you can easily get your hand into

  • Clicker *

  • 4' maximum leash (NO retractable/flexi leads)

  • Flat collar or martingale collar

  • Harness, if recommended (see linked review about harnesses for selecting)

  • Potty bags

  • Water dish

Notes about COVID, the Flu, Respiratory virus, or other illness and our classes:

  • Two people per dog or puppy.

  • ILLNESS: Please stay home if you or another family member are:

    • experiencing symptoms of Covid or Flu or other Respiratory illness,

    • in the past 14 days, have been exposed to Covid, or

    • you’ve travelled in the past 14 days to an area that is experiencing an outbreak

  • PUPPY ILLNESS: Please have your veterinarian check your puppy, and keep your puppy home if he/she is experiencing,

    • Vomiting

    • Diarrhea/loose stools (take a sample to your veterinarian for diagnosis)

    • Inappetence for 1-2 days before class

    • Fever

Cancellations

Sometimes weather or illness make it necessary to cancel a class. In the event class is cancelled due to weather, temperatures, road conditions, or instructor illness, the schedule is extended by the appropriate number of classes. Notification of class cancellation is posted in this order:
